Signs (and sounds) of Spring – Ditch Daffys

Monday, April 24, 2017

It’s been an unusually cool wet spring here, but we’re seeing signs of spring all around us. The forsythia and flowering red currant bushes that we see from our kitchen window are in full bloom, with battling hummingbirds dive-bombing each other, engaging in turf warfare in the sky. Hard to imagine that those cute little guys will NOT share with others of their kind, not for landing rights to a nesting area anyway.

Beginnings

This is the beginning of a new year, and for me, the beginning of this website and blog, courtesy of my very talented brother, Steve Ross (StevenTracyRoss.com). Although I am a novice at blogging, I find that when I'm outside, working on the farm, I have a running conversation going on in my head - with who, I don't really know. Maybe just myself. Sometimes it's simply making lists in the garden or berry fields; sometimes it's pithy observations under the heading of Life, General. Other times, I'm just gobsmacked by the beauty of the day and my surroundings. Whatever.
